“Rust to Dust” by John Remington, a University of Idaho graduate student & playwright has been selected as the winning script of the 3rd Annual New Play Project! “Rust to Dust” tells the story of Willard Huson, a broken, battered, continent and invalid gunfighter. Willard finds himself at the end of a long life, surviving on memories and pride. Assisted by his old partner, Pedro Santos, Willard comes face to face with his great nemeses, Jane Mortier for a final showdown.
“Rust to Dust” will be presented as a Staged Reading production September 9-10, 2011 at the LCCC Theater. The show will be directed by LCCC Theater Instructor, Jason Pasqua.
March 31, 2011 was the deadline for Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming playwrights to enter their work to the 3rd Annual New Play Project, a program created by the Cheyenne Little Theatre Players (CLTP) to encourage, recognize and support playwrights in the seven-state region. Submitted entries were full-length plays that had not been performed previously; no film scripts or musicals were allowed. The winning playwright, John Remington, was announced on June 1, 2011 and received a $250 cash award. CLTP is also offering the winning playwright a $200.00 travel stipend to assist with expenses.to Cheyenne, WY to attend production meetings, auditions, rehearsals, and performances of the work. The competition entry fee was $20 per play submitted. |
