The Cheyenne Little Theatre Players
Last Season (2008-2009) CLTP:
- In partnership with Laramie County School District #1, provided a day dedicated for field trips only. CLTP offered tickets at 1/2 of the average ticket price. This provided an educational opportunity for people who may never be able to see live theatre. Approximately 400 school children, teachers, & aids attended.
- CLTP’s season consisted of 72 performances and a total of 12,298 audience members.
- Awarded 10 scholarships to youth at risk in grades K-12 to attend our summer theatre academy.
- CLTP accepted new plays from local playwrights residing in Idaho, Utah, Nebraska, Colorado, & Wyoming. Dana Formby’s full length play, “Inherit the Whole” was selected as the winner to be performed as a Reader’s Theatre during the 2009-2010 Season.
- CLTP hosted the AACT Wyoming State Play Festival. The first to be held since the early 1980’s. Four community theatre groups participated from Casper, Cheyenne and Gillette.
- CLTP was 1 of 4 community theatres from Colorado, Utah and Wyoming invited to perform at the AACT Regional Play Festival in Orem, Utah.
- CLTP’s attendance for Reader’s Theatre performances increased by 211 a 90% increase over the previous year.
- CLTP’s Historic Atlas Theatre received a $10,000 donation from the Hampton Inns as the State of Wyoming designee for their “Save-A-Landmark” program. They also provided CLTP a crew of volunteers for a day of community service to do a major clean up and repairs of the Historic Atlas Theatre.
- The CLTP partnered with the Senior Center to host one “Senior Sunday” for each of our full-length productions; seniors were able to purchase half-price tickets for performances on those days
- Attracted over 4,500 people to Cheyenne’s downtown Historic Atlas Theatre for the 52nd production of The Old Fashioned Melodrama.
- Donated CLTP ticket gift certificates to various nonprofit organizations for their fundraising efforts.
- Brought high quality, community based entertainment and education to people of all ages and backgrounds with the assistance of approximately 300 invaluable, incredible volunteers.
